Reading/Writing/Spelling
- Reading Workshop/Independent Reading - practicing to STOP and THINK and reflect on reading; reading and choosing "just right" books; practicing fluency; practicing habits of good readers; keeping a reading journal
- Lexia practice
- Writing Workshop: The writing process; drafting small moment/personal narrative story; revising; peer editing; writing an About the Author; Publishing: front cover, back cover with blurb, dedication and copyright pages
- Friendly Letter writing: the elements of a friendly letter; writing a friendly letter to our Super Star
- Read Aloud: The Trumpet of the Swan by E.B. White

Handwriting Without Tears
- Capital Partners: Cc, Oo, Ss, Vv, Ww
- Practicing holding pencil correctly, "bumping lines", and forming letters with correct strokes
Singapore Math
- Addition and subtraction without renaming review and test- ( 3-digit numbers using vertical algorithm)
- Adding ones or tens mentally - review mental math techniques: making ten strategy, counting on by tens, breaking apart numbers and using models
- Practice renaming ones, tens, and hundreds mentally -Example: 2 hundreds = 20 tens; 23 tens = 2 hundreds 3 tens
- Renaming ones - Adding within 1000, where renaming occurs in the ones
- Renaming tens - Adding within 1000, where renaming occurs in the ones
- Math Challenges and Problem Solving
- Math Tiles - Addition and Subtraction Balance Tiles; Add-A-Dot Tiles; Tens and Ones Place Value Tiles
- Kakooma Math Puzzles
History
- "Where in the world are we?" - The students explored and are practicing identifying themselves in the world they live in, moving outward through their school community, their town/city, their state, their country, their continent, and their planet. Students made a "bullseye" layered paper mobile illustrating where they are in the world they live in.
Science
- One-minute Habitat Documentaries - after students viewed and critiqued their first cut videos, student teams reshot their habitat videos. Teams looked for evidence of animal habitats, made a plan to film, and incorporated live narration during production...look at our first cut videos and photos of the students in action in our gallery!
Social Cognition and Toolbox
- Practicing Toolbox and "using your tools"
- Social Thinking -Unthinkables and Thinkables: What Unthinkables do you need to defeat? What Thinkables can you invite to help you be your best self?
