Rocky Shore Field Trip:
What a fabulous day at the rocky shore! Our field study on Tuesday was a smashing success. We were blessed with beautiful weather making for excellent visibility in to the tide pools. Our mini marine biologists were able to observe the adaptations of hermit crabs, barnacles, brown turban snails, sea stars, urchins, and anemones in their natural habitat as the perfect culmination to our initial study of the unity and diversity of life on our planet. Be sure to check out the pictures in the gallery!

Goal Setting Conferences:
We look forward to sharing your second grader's learning progress and setting goals in our conferences on Friday and Saturday, October 18 & 19. Please remember that our scheduled time for conferences is 20 minutes. We appreciate your timeliness, patience, and understanding. Our goal is to spend enough time with each family to review your second grader's progress and to set goals for the school year.

Literature Discussion with Mrs. Peiken

- For next week, students should read the next story in the literature packet before meeting with Mrs. Peiken on Tuesday. The second graders have been eagerly writing questions to bring up during their very invigorating discussions with Mrs. Peiken.
