***News Alert***
The students of Grade 2 filled their marble jar! They did this by earning a marble each time the class, as a whole, was working positively and harmoniously together. The students brainstormed ideas and then voted. They voted to have a pajama day and we threw in a period of watching favorite cartoons. The kids are super excited and we have confirmed with Mrs. Bozzo and Mrs. Barrow that we will be able to have our pajama day next Wednesday, May 6. Grade 2 students may come to school in their favorite pajamas on this day.

- Immigration SImulation - "Coming to America" on the SS. STEVEN SON. Students randomly were assigned roles on the ship as 1st class, 2nd class, and 3rd class passengers. In the effort to simulate the experience immigrants in the early 1900's faced, we attempted to show the students the hardships and parallels of the different classes through this journey. Our Grade 2 passengers went through the mock interview process and health check. Randomly, they were either cleared to go through to America, be held in the hospital, or sent back to the ship to return to their home country. In reflection, it was clear that the students made some deep connections and empathized with the passengers' experiences.
